Text-to-image AI generation, such as Midjourney, is fantastic for creating raster images, but it does not yet support vector art creation. This post explains how to utilize Midjourney and Vectorizer.ai collectively to produce SVG vector images from textual input.
Creating dinos with Midjourney
First, Midjourney was asked to generate an image from the prompt:
vector dinosaur character, minimal, solid colors, Paul Rand style, no shadows
The generated preview image contains four variants that can be used as-is for further vectorizing steps without upscaling being necessary. The image was split into four separate images and then vectorized with the Vectorizer.ai web service.
Resulting SVG images
Here are the resulting SVG vector images, processed in Inkscape for background removal only.
