When searching for “ChatGPT” in the App Store, it is surprising to find an overwhelming number of apps that claim to be ChatGPT or ChatGPT-powered. Many of these apps have icons that look strikingly similar to each other, as well as to the logo of OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT.
Which one is the one?
The real deal ChatGPT is actually https://chat.openai.com/. As of April 21st, 2023, OpenAI still hasn’t released their own app for it. All these other ChatGPT apps you see out there are using OpenAI’s API, which they must pay for, of course. Is it possible that not all of these apps are using the official API, or not all the time… Who knows?
