Overview
Occasionally, I lose my internet connection at home. This happened again a few days ago. My home internet wasn’t working in the morning, but after a short while, connectivity was restored. However, what exactly happened, and how long was the connectivity down?
Uptime Kuma
Uptime Kuma is a self-hosted monitoring tool running in my homelab. Up until now, it has been monitoring other local services, as well as running DNS pings with the local Pi-hole and the DNS resolver running on the router. This DNS ping essentially serves as an accurate method for monitoring internet connectivity.
